Set in the wild world of sports gambling, Lay The Favorite follows Beth Raymer (Rebecca Hall) an ex Florida stripper who moves to Los Angeles hoping to follow her dream: Being a cocktail waitress in a flashy Casino. Thinks don’t work out and she ends up working as gambler’s assistant for Dink (Bruce Willis), one of the best in the business. She’s a natural, but falls for Dink, much to the chagrin of his fearsome wife, Tulip(Catherine Zeta-Jones). That deal goes sour, and a triangular war ensues. Beth leaves to work for the unstable Rosie’s (Vince Vaughn) less-than-legal operation in NYC, but when her high risk gamble result in her innocent boyfriend Jeremy (Joshua Jackson) facing jail, she must reunite with Dink, face up to Tulip, and face the music.
