Job For a Cowboy’s performance at Heavy TO was the best I’ve seen from them.
When Job For a Cowboy first came on the scene they were a source for much debate. Originally a Deathcore group, JFAC released their Doom EP to mixed reviews. After a few line-up changes the bands musical focus completely shifted to pure Death Metal. Very-good death metal. They released Genesis in 2007, which led to tours with Behemoth, Gojira and Beneath the Massacre.
They are currently on the Summer Slaughter tour, a festival that brings together Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Periphery, Cerebral Bore, Between The Buried and Me, The Faceless, Goatwhore and Veil of Maya. Seeing all of these bands on the same day was one of the most intense days of live music I’ve ever experienced.
Job For a Cowboy performed most of their latest album, Demonocracy. With bass newcomer Nick Schendzielos their stage-presence was powerful and untouchable. Nick is also the bassest for the experimental Deathgrind band Cephalic Carnage.
It was an absolute pleasure chatting with Nick about his presence in the metal scene. It’s clear he is a true believer in the merits of heavy music, which seems to be a common theme among our Heavy TO interviewees.
More interviews to come!
