Ryerson Student Installations:
Every year the ‘crème de la crème’ of Ryerson’s Students of Interior Design are invited to showcase their skills on the IDS showroom floor and 2012’s exhibit of “Forgotten people and forgotten spaces” did not disappoint. Each year Ryerson grads seem to set the bar higher and higher for innovative and creative design.
“Drawing on the resources of a vibrant city and a university dedicated to the advancement of applied knowledge, Ryerson’s Interior Design School prepares graduates for leadership in the Interior Design profession. Through understanding and consideration of the technological, aesthetic, ideological, environmental, cultural and social dimensions of the built environment.” Ryerson
Designer Charity Designs:
January 2012 marked the 14th anniversary of the Toronto Interior Design Show where ONEXONE was the charity of choice. The Cherish Auction held during the Opening Night Party showcased 21 Magis Julian chairs that were re-imagined by 21 different international designers, including Donna Karan, David & Glenn Dixon, Debbie Travis, Joe Fresh and Hariri Pontarini Architects.
There are also a lot of off site events going on around the city in association with the IDS week, which you might want to check out. TODO is one of them. Check out our second feature on IDS 2013 for the inside scoop on what’s coming this year.
