MPH by Mark Millar and Duncan Fegredo. Millar described MPH as The Fast & the Furious without the cars and promises that the comic will showcase a new way of doing super-speed in comics. The six-issue limited series will be published by Image. MPH is about four 19 year-olds who take an illegal street drug that gives them the power of moving at light-speed for seven days, effectively making them a team of Dash! This need for speed is scheduled to come out early February. Put your seatbelt on!

 

Loki: Agent of Asgard #1 by Al Ewing and Lee Garbett (Marvel) Mighty Avengers writer Al Ewing is joined by artist Lee Garbett to bring us everybody’s favorite villain in his solo title, Loki: Agent of Asgard to be printed in February. In an attempt to redeem himself of his many crimes, Loki will take on all the missions the All-Mother can throw at him, beginning with a heist on Avengers Tower and the death of Thor?

 

The New 52: Future’s End #1 by Jeff Lemire, Keith Giffen, Brian Azzarello and Dan Jurgens. The New 52: Future’s End joins Batman Eternal as a weekly series published by DC. The series will take a peek at DC’s best known characters five years into the future. Writer Jeff Lemire has said that the series will explore the nature of what a hero is by playing with The New 52 timeline, colliding past, present and future through Frankenstein, Firestorm, and Batman Beyond, respectively. The series is to hit the shelves in May 2014.

 

Starlight #1 by Mark Millar and Goran Parlov new comics is a space fantasy; it’s the beginning of his Millarworld Universe, (i.e. his personal version of the Marvel U). It’s a Flash Gordon-style hero returning to Earth, who gets married, has kids, but 25 years later is called up to save the universe one more time. I can’t wait to crack open that first issue in March and watch Millarworld Universe come to life.

 

Miracleman by Alan Moore, Mark Buckingham, Neil Gaiman and various artists (Marvel). Technically this isn’t a new comic, but a reprint of the stories Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman wrote in 1982,. The series has been in legal limbo for years, slowly becoming the legendary lost work of Moore. A lot of fans are eager to witness the never-before-seen final issues of Miracleman, which may just lead to new adventures sometime in the future (Jan 15, 2014).
