Posted 11 years ago by myetvmedia

Julian is a rare genius and has a great affinity for and knowledge of technology and the Internet. He and his small group of friends including Trax (Jordan Raskopoulos) find they can rove the world on the Internet and discover a great deal of very fascinating information. Julian’s girlfriend Elektra (Laura Wheelwright) is at first intrigued and in love with Julian but later circumstances will separate them.

One night Julian discovers the US military internet site, and spurred on by on a bet with his friend, cracks the code and accesses top secret information that goes as high up as the US Generals in charge of the military manoeuvres in Iraq. Julian discovers that the codes match the map locations of targets set up by the US military for attack. Much to Julian’s horror, he discovers that the US military, contrary to the announcements in the international news have deliberately set up and attacked civilians. They have sent missiles that have ripped through known civilian safe zones, incinerating hundreds and hundreds of innocent women and children. Julian decides to reveal this information to the world to try and bring attention to the horrible truth. At the same time the local police, Detective Ken Roberts (Anthony LaPaglia) with the assistance of an Internet expert (Callan McAuliffe) have been alerted to high-level Internet hackers. So have the CIA/FBIJulian and his friends suddenly become targets of a very serious investigation.

Many events coincide and at the very time that Julian becomes a person of interest, the media and police crack down on The Family and expose the horrors of the cult. It has taken fifteen years. Julian’s personal life is also in disarray because of the constant stress of living in fear and on the run. He has become accustom to living under these circumstances, clear that his mission in life is now to expose the truth for the benefit of those who need protection.

The movie is timely, gripping and very well researched by director/writer Robert Connolly, with strong performances from the cast, especially newcomer Alex Williams. Robert Connolly has won awards for Balibo, Romulus, My FatherThe Bank and is now set to direct THE SHIPKILLER, by Justin Scott a tale of love and revenge set in the high seas. It is considered to be one of the best maritime thrillers ever written. The novel follows one man determined to win at sea the justice he has been denied on land. Another story similar to the Julian Assange story that delves into the dark forces that shape the human condition. Robert Connolly attended Tiff 2012 for the Premiere.
