Synth pop- electronic band Austra is another band that adds to the many reasons I love electronic music. Their 2011 debut album “Feel it Break” is up for “Electronic album of the year”. With delectable synth and an electro-goth feel it’s no wonder  ”Feel it Break” was short listed for a 2011 Polaris music award. From dark and moody instrumentals on tracks like “Beat and the Pulse” to Tear’s for Fear’sesque “ The Future” this album gets under your skin in a good way and stays there.

The Toronto indie rockers are up for “New Artist of the year” and “Music Video of the Year” for the music video “Stamp” directed by José Lourenço. Already a long listed nominee for the 2011 Polaris award for their album “Departing” they’re no strangers to the nominee race.
