“Henry” (Directed by Yan England)

Yan England is the co-host of the radio station CKOI morning program in Montreal. He is also a TV actor (Yamaska TVA, Trauma Radio-Canada, Fan Club to VRAK.TV) and a film writer/director/producer. This is his second short film and stars Hubert Lemire, Louise Laprade, Marie Tifo and Gérard Poirier…

This is a love story about an 84-year old pianist whose wife suddenly disappears. It is inspired by young writer/director Yan England’s grandfather Maurice England who died at age 96. Born in Italy, Maurice worked for the Secret Service in England during WW2 and became a film producer. He moved his family to Montreal, Canada where he had to start all over again. He later developed Alzheimer’s disease. Yan says this is a personal work made with his own resources. He was surprised and overwhelmed by the Oscar nomination. The film was made over the course of a year and involved about fifty people who worked on the project purely for the passion of it.

“Does anyone know the name of the song they play together, that’s playing in the background of this trailer?”
