LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean stays true to the LEGO franchise. After the hit releases of LEGO Star Wars, Toy Story, and Indiana Jones, comes the release of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean, which was added to the long list of well-known titles.

If you loved playing with Lego as a child, you’ll love playing with Lego as one of your favourite characters in Pirates of the Caribbean. No matter what age you are, you can’t deny the excitement of playing through a simple game with lots of eye candy to keep your attention. Bounce around as Captain Jack Sparrow, blacksmith Will Turner, or many other familiar faces while building and destroying different things to complete tasks. If you love to collect things, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean is for you. The game is straight forward, fun, and full of colourful details and extravagant levels that are present in every LEGO game.

As with all LEGO games, Pirates of the Caribbean does not have any dialogue or subtitles. During story mode the characters act out the important scenes from all four movies, which is an affective way of moving along the plot. There are a lot of great and detailed visuals and sounds. Along with incorporating many of the movies’ iconic scenes and battles, the LEGO edition makes way for new challenges as well.

There are small things here and there that add to the overall long-lasting appeal of the game, and some things that need some improving. For example, you can play two-player, but LEGO does not support any online gaming. Even though they wish to stay true to their original target younger audience, adding an online option allows gamers to play with each other anywhere they wish. LEGO did its job in producing another solid video game for children and everyone young at heart. Overall, it is a solid game and a joy to play.
