I Am Number Four

I Am Number Four is a film with all the right ingredients; good actors, good director and great special effects however it falls terribly short in its ability to entice even the mildly intelligent audience. With the capability to put unbelievable special effects sequences together should come the responsibility to have a script that will equate with the rest of the film. Director D. J. Caruso has missed the mark. Michael Bay puts his name on the film as a producer as we have seen other top directors do who have made the move to production. The film doesn’t make you want to be NUMBER 4 or any other number … it actually makes you wonder when it will end. This is the classic conundrum of Hollywood style big budget mega movies that are more fluff than substance.

Spiderman, Iron Man and Watchmen are superhero movies, I Am Number Four is a barcode. If it were up to me I would have rather seen the money spent in film schools because they surely would have done a better job than this conglomerate. If you are a teenager with no taste in movies or you just like special effects or you are a diehard Brett Favre fan you might be entertained. Unfortunately I spent my money and regretted it. I hope you don’t make the same mistake!
