Vita game play gimmicks are present and run the gamut between slightly annoying, kinda interesting and genuinely innovative. You can use the systems gyroscope (tilt thingy for you dummies out there) to fine tune your aim and pull of some “mouse and keyboard” level of accuracy. But segments that force you to swipe your fingers across the screen like a two year old with an Ipad feel silly and completely abject of challenge.
If you are one of those nuts who wants to do all the extra crap (like taking photos, finding treasures and all the optional jigsaw puzzles) you will get some extra value but for most gamers Golden Abyss provides a solid eight to ten hours. What we have here is an instantly classical uncharted game albeit slightly lighter on the set piece’s, for an uncharted fan it will tickle the portable itch and for all other early adopters of the Vita it stands as the platforms best game yet released.
