In AC:Revelations, as Ezio, you have to win Assassin territories in the City of Constantinople. As with every other city in the series, Constantinople is a joy to explore and its map is filled to bursting with activities. Players can still buy shops, businesses, new weapons, armor and equipment, hunt for treasure chests and burn towers. Recruit assassins; hire the odd band of thugs or Romany women.

Sometimes players are required to hit the jump button in order for Ezio to reach a handhold above him, but it’s never clear when this is the case and I got stuck a couple of times. Also, if Iyou hit jump at the wrong time Ezio will kick off the building in the opposite direction and crash to the street below. Nerve wracking!

Though missions and core combats remain very familiar, Ubisoft did add a new dynamic to the territorial control element of Revelations. In previous games, Ezio would buy shops around the city, take control of enemy camps by assassinating their leaders and burn Borgia towers and gain influence over the city (AC:Brotherhood). Now the enemies can and will attempt to take back Ezio HQ/Den (tower).

Personally I found that the Den Defense (tower defense mini-game) adds little to AC:Revelations. In fact, it actually distracted me from the experience. The first couple of tower defense were fun but it got frustrating and distracting towards the end of the game as notification that your HQ are being attacked became irritating, as it usually interrupted me from a more fun and worthwhile mission.

AC:Revelations is also considerably shorter compared to the previous games. The main story will only last approximately 12 hours of game play but you have plenty of side missions. The best side mission that I completed was the mission to collect the memoir pages of the Turkish general Ishak Pasha and I got a pretty nifty armor as a reward.  Another mission that I enjoyed was to exploration of ‘Vlad the Impaler’ dungeon, finding his sword was quit gratifying.

The Visuals:

I have to say, although the graphics engine of AC: Revelations is now looking slightly dated, but it is still an amazing game, everything looks historically accurate and absolutely gorgeous.

The Sound:

The sound effects and the soundtracks are just as good as all other games in this franchise. All +++.

Multiplayer:

It is certainly fun to be on a multiplayer mode, although for me there will always be something of a disconnect with it. The single-player game is fun because I get to be the bestassassin, the smartest killer in the world, but as soon as I go online, I’m a clumsy dead bit.
