Fast Five

7.5/10

Fast Five is the latest part of a widely popular franchise. This year it gathers all the star characters from the previous movies. And I mean all of them!

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker come back to drive fast cars and steal stuff. This time they face a worthy enemy: Dwayne Johnson (known as The Rock) himself!

The movie takes place Rio de Janeiro, Brazil mostly and is based around the idea of stealing money from a drug lord. The Rock is a legendary police-commando and chases everyone. Everyone keeps running away and Tyrese Gibson delivers funny jokes. Girls are sexy, cars are fast and everything explodes. That’s pretty much what it’s all about.

Acting is as expected – not Oscar winning. Most of the dialogues are cheesy and not very well written. Except the jokes – those are awesome! Well…. kind of.

Action scenes on the other hand are great. Even though based on a simple story with no character development creators of the film delivered a lot of action. Elite race car drivers, shoot-outs, high-speed train robberies and a deadly game of instincts! Fast action keeps you on the edge of your seat. It’s all there and happens all the time.

Stunts are pretty impressive, and the violent fight between The Rock and Vin Diesel will put smile on anyone’s face!

Music is not very memorable but during the film feels right. Definitely deserves a listen.

But the main question is… is it a good movie? Is it worth seeing?

…. The answer is YES! It’s a typical action movie, similar to previous films of the series and don’t except anything more! You either hate it or love it. If you want character development and meaningful conversations – see something else. This is for pure fun and mindless action. Taking into account its purpose and genre it one of the best films of the first half of the year!
