The Old West and Outer Space have the great attraction that they carry a great deal of nostalgia for the notion of magnificent actions carried out by heros – some very unlikely, often mysterious heros – for the good of mankind, against great odds. Cowboys & Aliens promises to unite those two worlds under the clever direction of Jon Faveau (Iron Man) who has done a great deal of homework to make sure the movie is bound to keep the audience spell bound. It is a shame to reveal to much of the story but we already know that a lone cowboy (Daniel Craig) of mysterious origins stumbles into an Arizona Town called Absolution.

The year is 1873. The town’s inhabitants seem very peculiar and completely under the control of Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). The town lives in fear which is about to become terror as it is suddenly attacked by the Aliens. This is where the mysterious stranger turns out to be the only one who can save the town and its inhabitants from abduction and worse at the hands of these monstrous marauding aliens. Heavy production credits include Steve Spielberg and Ron Howard. Special effects galore. “Grab your gun. We’re riding out”.
