Cloud Atlas TIFF 2012 Review

The story illustrates the significance of keeping a record of our human journeys and the passing down of knowledge that we as a civilization can learn from. The contribution of each character is very powerful as the tale is variously narrated, portrayed through dream sequences, played out in the present, seen through flashbacks and in futuristic worlds.

Cloud Atlas follows the lives of six different people across complicated periods of history and into far off future worlds. Although they have very different existences in each era they are still the same soul with a personal quest and a mission they must try and accomplish. They are always being presented with choices although circumstances beyond their control often intervene to thwart them accomplishing it. The choice they make will lead them to the dark side of their character or to a more enlightened self. They have also encountered each other in their previous lives and have some deep and very significant connection to each other and the history of the human race.

Cloud Atlas is an extraordinary movie with an inspiring, thoughtful message that will stay with the viewer well after you leave the theatre.  It will definitely be a huge hit.
