A String Theory

When I commented how trendy their chevron printed scarf was String Theory designer, Meghan Price was quick to fill me. The “trendiness” of the design was a complete fluke, for her and her design partner, Lysanne Latulippe it is all about the materials. The textile designer duo use Peruvian baby alpaca and Italian merino to create their insanely soft scarves, that come in classic shades of grey, cream and white, in designs such as “Chevron” “Big Mess” or a personal favourite, “Etched”. The duo’s dedication to use of natural and manmade structures as sources of inspiration results in scarves that are unique, eye catching and gorgeous. All mentioned designs have made my personal wish list.

Who would have thought that a bag made from felt could ever be as decadent as the designs we saw from Montreal designer, Cindy Cantin. Working with a mix of leathers and felt CcommeCA’s designs are gender neutral and have a raw vibe to them that makes each bag, laptop case, ipad case a must have for that “person who has everything” on your list.

Adriana McNeely

Made with gold leafed cork, Toronto designer/goldsmith and resident artist at the Harbourfront Center, Adriana McNeely makes some quirky jewelry. Including two- fingered cork rings, round cork staking bracelets, and deer themed cuff links. McNeely’s designs recycle cork from wine bottles, with some of her pieces even being dyed from the pigment in the wine. Talk about combining two of my favourite things.

Toronto jewelry designer Corrine Anestopoulos, designs are funky, modern and so trendy that it was hard to focus on just one piece we wanted to bring home with us. Inspired by priceless heirlooms, travel and warm sunny days Anestopoulous has gone above and beyond with items like her friendship bracelet inspired bracelets that use brass and rubber rings for a cheeky, sophisticated combo.
