Writer-director Gauri Shinde brings her first feature to the screen with the delightfully funny comedy English Vinglish. Legendary Indian actress Sridevi (Shashi) returns to the screen as the Indian aunt visiting Manhattan to help her niece prepare for her wedding. Unfortunately her troubles begin with her lack of English, something her family has teased her about. Simple tasks become so frustrating and difficult without the language tools and lead to hilarious miscommunications. This entertaining film follows Shashi as she explores Manhattan. Miscommunication becomes the centre of the comedy. There is a wonderful cameo from Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan!
