#2 – Diamonds are forever

Diamonds are Forever was created for the 1971 Bond film of the same title, composed by conductor and composer extraordinaire, John Barry who could be called the King of The Bond Song considering he composed 12 James Bond themes between the years of 1962-1987, most of those themes were created with lyricist Don Black who was responsible for other bond tracks like “Thunderball”  and “The Man with the golden gun”. Performed by Shirley Bassey, while adding yet another Bond song to her belt, Diamonds Are Forever was also recorded in Italian, and almost didn’t make the cut due to producer Harry Saltzman’s distaste for the innuendo-esk lyrics. Most recently Diamonds Are Forever has come back into popularity thanks to the Kanye West hit “Diamonds From Sierra Leone” which heavily samples the track.
