Transitioning Spring Trends Into Your Wardrobe

Posted 11 years ago by myetvmedia

Three easy steps to bringing Spring into your winter wardrobe.

A real trick of the trade for transitioning from Winter to Spring is to choose a trend you love and start working it into your current wardrobe. Sticking to just one trend at a time is a good way to work everything in without overdoing it.

Metallics:

Appearing in full force across runways, this trend reminds me of disco glam and I love, nay adore adding shimmery anything to an outfit. For me the perfect way to work in this trend is with one basic piece such as a shift dress, or a tank top in a metallic colour. Pair it up with a leather jacket which is all the rage this spring, glam it up with a blazer – black for the office, white for a night on the town.

Recommended Spring wardrobe addition:

Consider investing in this gold, shimmery dress from Toronto’s own Jacflash: looks amazing with everything from a blazer to just a pair of heels and a smile.

Prints:

‘Prints on prints on prints’ is the mantra this Spring, but donning a head to toe look can be fairly intimidating. Start your voyage into prints with a great printed pant. Retailers like H&MZara and Topshop all have great options at a bargain-girl price. Pair them with a chunky knit sweater and your favourite winter heeled booties for a look that marries the best of both seasons. Tips for the petite: when working with this trend stick to small prints no larger than your hand so as not to overwhelm your petite-girl frame

Recommended spring Wardrobe addition:

This printed pant from H&M would work for a tall or petite girl and can easily be worn right through the summer.

Mints & Dreamsicle Muted Tones:

This is the new colour wave which makes me feel like everything has a dreamy “rise” filter on it (that’s a little somethin’ somethin’ for my instagrammies).  This trend goes Boho fabulous when paired with rustic brown leathers, and gets chic ‘tres’ fast when worn head to toe, or paired with it’s primary counterpart for a ultra contemporary colour blocking effect.

Recommended Spring Wardrobe addition:

This blushy Club Monaco crew neck would look ah-may-zing with a manicured set of red nails or for a bold look pair it with a cherry red pencil skirt.
