Through the woods

July 2014

Emily Carroll is a fantastic creator, with her breakout comic His face all red being one of the best horror comics you’ll ever read. This collection has His face all red for the first time in print, along with four other stories, A lady’s hands are cold, My friend Janna, The nesting place and Our neighbours house. If you want fairy tales with the blood and fear left in, pick this up when it hits shelves in July.

8House

TBA

8House is a new universe, written Brandon Graham (Prophet, Elephantmen) and Emma Rios (Pretty Deadly), with art by Xuro Penalta, Marian Churchland (Beast), and Hwei Lim, with promises of ancient conspiracies, bodyswaps, aliens and astral projection. Everything about this sounds fantastic, and I’ll certainly be picking it up.

Nameless

TBA

Grant Morrison describes Nameless as “taking all the dark stuff that Western culture’s kind of obsessed with — the zombies and everything — beyond the limit and doing hopefully for now what H.P. Lovecraft did for the wartime generation.”‘ With art by Chris Burnham (Batman Inc.), this is Morrison’s first horror comic, and promises to be a good one.
