“Life of Pi” the book was originally rejected by at least five different London publishers before being accepted by Knof Canada who published it in 2001. The initial rejections are not surprising as the story was probably considered ‘too out of the box’. “Life of Pi” has gone on to be an international bestseller winning multiple awards including the Man Booker prize. The challenge of bringing such a fantastical story to screen definitely required the touch of a master and Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) has the imagination, creativity and insight necessary to take the viewer to the fantasy realm that this story requires. Life of Pi is a 20th Century Fox production. It is a remarkable, magical, transformative movie for all ages.
