Game of Thrones – The Exhibition TIFF/HBO 

Can’t wait for the Season 2 Game of Thrones premiere on April 1st (9pm)? Head to the TIFF Lightbox for a special HBO/TIFF Game of Thrones Exhibit.HBO Canada gave myEtvmedia a first glance at the Exhibition which features costumes, weaponry and amazing props from the show and gives a back-stage look at the show’s creation with clips and stunning photography from Seasons 1 & 2. Although the tickets are free the lineups for this hugely anticipated Exhibition have been snaking through the main lobby of the TIFF Lightbox and patrons have been waiting for up to an hour to get in, so arrive early.

Season 2 of Game of Thrones is based on the second book ‘A Clash of Kings’ in George R.R. Martin’s epic saga ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. Key to this book and to the Season 2 series is an epic civil war between the seven kingdoms to claim the Iron Throne. The central battle, which was scripted by Martin himself, will be enthralling. It was hugely challenging to film for TV and takes place on both land and sea. Game of Thones Season 2 was shot in a Quarry in Northern Ireland. The second stunning location is in mountains of Croatia near Dubrovnik. The cast has endured searing heat, brutal cold, long nights deep in mud and rain as some of the challenges in bringing Martin’s epic to life.

Winter is coming. Jon Snow ventures north of The Wall into uncharted and dangerous territory with the Night’s Watch to search for the source of the White Walkers and Jon’s Uncle Benjen. Producers sent the cast to the snowiest, coldest place they could find to simulate the world north of The Wall - Iceland! Adding to the reality of the series, this season real wolves play the role of the CGI enhanced “direwolves” there will be more dragons, more sex and more bloodlust as well as fascinating royal shenanigans to propel you through the much-anticipated Season 2 Game of Thrones.

Look for the banners of the four warring houses; Lannister, Targaryen, Stark and Baratheon.
