Up and Coming at
TIFF 2010: Buried

Posted 13 years ago by myetvmedia

The 35th annual Toronto International Film Festival is just around the corner and the buzz is building for this year’s big films. My ETV Media is here to provide you with three of our favourite picks on what are sure to be great films at this year’s festival.

Buried

Director: Rodrigo Cortés

SPAIN/USA, 2010 • English

Ryan Reynolds plays Paul Conroy, a man buried alive in a coffin. How did he get there? Who did it? Cortés brings this thriller to life about perhaps one of the worst scenarios for a person to imagine themselves in. The buzz about this film is that Reynolds gives the performance of his career. One location, one actor, that’s a lot of pressure. Rodrigo Cortés takes a gamble with this film. We’ll see if audiences feel trapped with Reynolds or if this concept gets buried, pardon the pun. Either way, it’s sure to be one of the most discussed films at this year’s festival. For the record, we think it’s going to be a big hit.

Please check back with My ETV Media for reviews on these films and many more. We hope our picks will be among your favourites of the festival as well. Now, let’s hit the red carpet and find out.
