Up and Coming at
TIFF 2010: Black Swan

Posted 13 years ago by myetvmedia

The 35th annual Toronto International Film Festival is just around the corner and the buzz is building for this year’s big films. My ETV Media is here to provide you with three of our favourite picks on what are sure to be great films at this year’s festival.

Black Swan

Director: Darren Aronofsky

USA, 2010 • English

Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan” starring Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassell and Mila Kunis is perhaps one of the biggest films at TIFF this year. Fresh off his success of “The Wrestler”, Aronofsky is on a roll with another big hit in the making. It made waves at the Venice Film Festival during its world premier and shows no signs of letting up. “Black Swan” portrays Portman as an obsessed dancer being pushed to the brink of madness by a new rival in her dance company (Kunis). Aronofsky’s film looks dark, beautifully shot and edgy. Portman and Cassel are two actors who command attention and it will be interesting to see what they bring out of each other. Aronofsky helped resurrect Mickey Rourke, just imagine what he can do with these two.
