Digital Dreams - What you better not be missin’!

This Canada Day weekend is about to be lit up with the largest EDM festival Toronto has ever seen, Digital Dreams. If you’re someone who knows almost nothing about electronic dance music than this two-day, bonanza of a festival is a pretty wicked way to get acquainted with artists that range from Top 10 Billboard charters to smaller, more local fan favourite DJs and producers.  4 stages and an all-white beach party, reminiscent of the notorious Bal en Blanc party (https://myetvmedia.com/feature/events/bal-en-blanc-18/) in Montreal are just a few more reasons to get your behind to the Flats at M.C.A this weekend.  What are we excited for? Read and listen on!

Sydney Blu

Sydney Blu is known as Canada’s first lady of house since her explosion onto the EDM scene in the early 2000’s when she was signed to the Mau5trap label and her hit “Give it up for me” hit the number 1 spot on the Beatport charts. Her tribal-house infused productions quickly made her one of the most in demand dj’s on the global circuit. Her track “I wanna freak” was a finalist for Beatport’s 2012 Music Awards and her hypotonic beats are just one reason we’re counting down the day’s until we can see her spin.

Kaskade

Ten bucks says you’ve heard Kaskade, somewhere, at some point even if you didn’t know it. This American DJ and producer has been everywhere.  Releasing Billboard  Top 10 charted tracks since 2008; having his song’s remixed and Grammy nominated; co-producing tracks with Deadmau5 and even being included in videogames such as Golden Eye and DJ Hero. While Kaskade might be considered a little mainstream for most we’re not adverse to cross-over worthy tracks that make us dance.

Dubfire

Ali Shirazinia aka Dubfire is best known for his involvement with the Grammy award winning progressive house group, Deep Dish - but it’s his solo -dark rhythm, deep-dish, techno productions that we’re most excited about.  Dubfire’s reputation just keeps on building with countless remixes on BBC’s Radio 1’s essential mix, co-productions with British act: Underworld and the growth of his SCI+TEC label. His tracks “Roadkill” and “Ribcage” have taken the underground world by storm with their punk styling ethic, nods to hip-hop and technological progression.
