Best Christmas Advert Campaigns 2013

Christmas Holiday ad campaigns are media extravaganzas and nowhere has it been done better than in London, England this year.  A stroll along Oxford St. and around Knightsbridge provides a glimpse of the creative measures retail giants are going to this Holiday season. Advert campaigns run into multi-millions of dollars and involve internationally acclaimed talent. Lily Allen, Helen Bonham-Carter, Alice and Wonderland, Disney, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, TV stars Ant & Dec, an animated bear and hare, and a luxury Christmas train are some of the themes and personalities at the forefront of this year’s best campaigns. Last year, twenty-year old folksinger Gabrielle Apline’s rendition of the 1984 Hollywood classic “Power of Love” for the department store giant John Lewis’ Christmas Advert, became a Number 1 hit single.

This year, John Lewis has created stunning Holiday windows set with animals and birds made exclusively from blenders, lights, computers and other store merchandise that are remarkable. To compliment this they tapped experts from Disney’s art department to create a delightful, touching animated advert about a hare who gives his best friend, a bear, his best Christmas ever. The sound track “Somewhere Only We Know”, is performed by Lily Allen. The Twitter campaign was highly successful under the hashtag #sleepingbear.
