It is a celebration and affirmation of life expressed through music, art and dance in a magical setting embracing water, woods, beach and sky. With a likeness to the BOOM Festival in Portugal, Eclipse promotes alternative philosophies including human connections and preservation of the environment exhibited by policies such as LEAVE NO TRACE. Over 100 artists from around the globe celebrated the Year of the Dragon and the end of the Mayan Calendar at Eclipse 2012. The unique culture of the festival combined with the magical, enchanting setting is truly special. The physical beauty of the location, the over 100 amazing performances and artists, technically perfect sound and lighting and a signature artistic ambience makeEclipse a summer music festival that people look forward to all year. After Eclipse’s incredible ten-year anniversary in 2010 the Eclipse team took a break in 2011 (it will now become a biannual event)…. only to take it up one more level in 2012. After reviews of the 10th anniversary proclaimed it the best Eclipse ever both musically and visually we could only expect 2012 to truly ECLIPSE our expectations. The Eclipse site at Bonnet Rouge in Sainte-Therese-de-la-Gatineau is just 3 hours north of Montreal. The music (avant-garde, visionary electronic, and acoustic) is offered in three areas, the Solar Stage, Lunar Stage and the Stellar Stage. The Stellar Stage or the GOA Chill Zone is a new edition as of 2010 and offers acoustic performances, workshops and conferences as well as an array of electronic music styles. The Beach Area is absolutely magnificent where you can swim in the beautiful Gatineau river at the base of the rapids, and watch or join in kayaking, canoeing or rafting.

Global Village Productions UK provided the massive set up of stages, art installations, decor and lighting to accent and transform the landscape. Luminaya (France) and Mandala Sound and Vision (India/Mtl) were responsible for the Art/Deco which by the way is something very special and only someone who has been toEclipse will truly understand this beautiful transformation. I can only describe this transformative journey as being like that of the caterpillar as it makes its metamorphic journey into the beautiful monarch butterfly and heads away on a special journey from which it will one day return.
