Rango is a visually stunning, beautifully animated Western comedy for all ages.  Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) proves once again that he knows how to spin a yarn that entertains at all levels. The small Western town of Dirt is full of fascinating characters, who endear themselves to the audience with their clever dialogue and delightful antics

Rango features the voices of Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Bill Nighy, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina, Harry Dean Stanton, Ray Winston, Ned Beatty and Timothy Olyphant.

Rango is a lazy chameleon who accidently gets a chance to save the small Western town “Dirt”and its various critters from corruption. The film is populated with ugly but fascinating creatures. The action scenes are vibrantly staged.

Borrowing from famous Westerns; “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” and Western comedies “The Three Amigos”. Every line is a classic and the script is loaded with spaghetti western clips. The movie has the eccentric, homage-filled with such lines as “You son of a-”!, “Go to hell!”, and “Can I gut-shoot someone?”. There is an impressive amount of shooting and dying. This said other animated movie like “The Incredibles” used equivalent verbiage.

My children aged 9 and 13 truly enjoyed it, the film is built for viewers of any age with a taste for joyful anarchy. Rango is beautiful film that, regardless of its content, gave everyone in the theater a very good time.
