This January 23rd-26th, The Interior Design Show returns with its 2014 instalment. As one of North America’s three design shows IDS kicks off the design show season with a bang*. Bringing together design legends, fashion trends, innovative products and exciting exhibitions to The Toronto Metro Convention Center, the IDS’14 show is one we wait all year for. Over the course of three days, industry and the public can experience everything from expert talks, shops, and of course the latest in interior design. Opening Night Party January 23rd 7-11pm

The Interior Design Show opening party has become something of legend. Open to the public with ticketed access (hyperlink http://todesignoffsite.com ), touting some of Toronto’s acclaimed design legends, industry elites and renowned artists, the IDS Opening Night Party is a perfect opportunity to get a first glimpse at the showroom floor, sip cocktails and rub shoulders with design’s finest.

Globe Style Saturday January 25th 12pm-4pm

Globe Style Saturday, presented by Para Paints is a must for the fashion/trend junkies. This yearly design speaker series explores trends and their effect on cities, neighbourhoods and interiors. A fascinating set of talks on how design, colours and international trends shape our lives. This year’s line-up includes Sami Ruotsalainen of Marimekko, architect Rafael de Cárdenas and Muriel Brandolini: a former stylist and editor at Italian Vogue. Now known as one of the world’s most illustrious interior designers.Brandolini’s works have been featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, Architectural Design, Elle Decor and in 2012 she was named Architectural Digest’s top 100 architects and designers in the world.

House & Home Sunday January 26th 12-4pm

House & Home Sunday continues on the inspiring speaker-series bandwagon, including talks from some of Canada’s biggest design personalities such as Sarah Richardson and Lynda Reeves. If you can only catch one talk we recommend Suzanne Dimma from House & Home at 1:30. Dimma’s ‘The Power of Decorating’ is great for anyone who wants to learn how to make their home ‘Magazine Perfect’—and from our Pinterest Boards we’d say that’s almost everyone these days.
