Luciano is scheduled to grace the Echo Beach stage around 9pm on Saturday, just as the sun is finishing its decent. The Toronto Skyline lighting up in the distance will be the perfect backdrop for what is sure to the most talked about set of the weekend.

Digital Dreams boasts some great acts and a superb location. It may not be the type of event that people will be flocking to Toronto for but if you’re in the city and have the money it will definitely be a fun time.

Maybe I’m being a little idealistic but for a city with a growing international influence on electronic music, I dream of a festival that would attract foreigners to the scene. Unfortunately, like many similar large-scale electronic music festivals in Canada, Digital Dreams is pretty generic. It is unlike Mutek festival in Montreal with its carefully curated acts and does not have the exciting blend of electronic music and art that makes Sónar in Barcelona a can’t miss event. Presently Digital Dreams lacks an artistic identity which with time and maturity we hope it might develop. Sure you will remember your favourite shows but the festival experience itself will likely be forgettable. We will be there hoping for no rain and the opportunity to enjoy some really great electronic music.
