#1 – Live and let die
Live and Let Die is arguably the most popular Bond song, that’s not exclusively remembered for being a Bond Song. Scored by Sir George Henry Martin and written by the former Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney and his wife Linda for the 1973 Bond film, Live and Let Die. Martin and McCartney had previously worked together on numerous Beatles projects like Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and most of the Beatles orchestral arrangements were written by Martin. Considered to be the first ‘rock and roll’ Bond song, Live and Let Die remains to be one of Paul McCartney and The Wings most successful tracks. Live and Let Die was also the first Bond film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, and it’s Guns and Roses cover was nominated for a Grammy in 1993
