MyETVmedia is launching our inaugural GOTY awards and this means a focus on quality, artistry and above all else our own personal and emotional response to some of the best video games of the year.

2011 was an amazing year for video games, every genre and platform was privy to some fantastic games and new experiences. Drama was rife within the industry as always; Fox News took some shots at gaming as always, Sony took some interweb hits and games continue to topple sales charts. But most importantly 2011 gave us a few key titles that outshine all others. A game of the year is not just the bestselling game on any given platform (though strong sales do go hand in hand with exemplary games) its a moniker of a title that forwards the industry and our passion for games. It is a title that pushed narrative, technical, design and design elements far beyond the standard. Game of the Year and Games of the Year are the heart of the industry and they show it in spades.
