The Hunger Games is coming to the silver screen March 23rd. A whole new post apocalyptic world is about to be revealed.  Fans have bought millions of copies of the book and are expecting to find the same intense, emotional experience on screen. Taylor Swift already has a chart climbing song for the movie “Safe & Sound”.

Will Suzanne Collins, now a best selling author/screenwriter of The Hunger Games follow in the footsteps of British author J.K. Rowling of Harry Potter fame or Stephanie Meyer infamous for theTwilight Series and become the next international author extraordinaire?

Jennifer Lawrence (Oscar nominee ‘Winter’s Bone’) stars as Katniss Everdeen. The role calls for an actor with youth, emotional depth and physical ability. Jennifer Lawrence is Katniss Everdeen - simply an incredible character/actor match. The trailer is thrilling. Jennifer Lawrence, who is 21, has a personal real life story that is pretty incredible as well. She was spotted at the age of 14 for her remarkable acting presence.

Director Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) wrote the screenplay with Suzanne Collins, author of the Trilogy. The Hunger Games is the first book/film of a Trilogy that also includes; ‘Catching Fire’ and ‘Mockingjay’.

 

Publishing Success:

The Hunger Games’, the first book, was released by Scholastic Press in 2008. The second book ‘Catching Fire’ was released in September 2009. ‘The Hunger Games’ has been on the top of the New York Times Best Seller list for more than 60 weeks in a row.  Lions Gate Entertainment has worldwide distribution rights to the film based on the book, which is produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force production company.

Suzanne Collins was nominated Time magazine’s most influential people in 2010 based on the trilogy’s success.
