closing down the show with a performance from his album, Smoke Signals, which will be released by Universal Records this October.
Under Pressure also showcased the best of national and international talent on a stage tucked away in a parking lot just off the main street. MC Obie 1nder, who has been the voice of Under Pressure for years now, was, of course, the perfect choice to host the musical events, knowing exactly what to say and when. I stopped by the stage on Saturday for a performance from Montreal rapper Slik Jack– admittedly, I know very little about hip hop but Slik Jack’s performance was lively and vibes were kept high despite a rather small turnout.
Despite a small amount of rain, the party continued throughout the evening, and moved indoors to venues like Underworld and Foufounes Electriques at night. A perfect blend of skate, hip hop and graff culture, I can’t wait to see what Under Pressure comes up with next year.
