Feature Exhibits
Feature Exhibits are one of the highlights of the IDS show. Taking some of the brightest and most innovative divisions of designs and cultivating them in a series of exciting and inspiring exhibitions. These exhibits run the entire length of the IDS. This year nine exciting exhibits hit the showroom floor. Here’s what we’re most excited for:
Returning for its second year, The Designboom Market is the first-ever design market. Besides being a shop for some of the world’s coolest lighting, jewelry and household items the Designboom is also an opportunity to meet the designers face to face. Your opportunity to experience innovation at it’s finest. Highlights from last year: Reading glasses that doubled as a hair band, and sleek wine bottle lamps.
Industrial, interior design and architecture students from the Art Institute of Vancouver, George Brown College, Humber College, OCAD, Ryerson University, and more, have the opportunity to showcase their work at the Creative Class exhibit, taking place on the main floor of the Convention Center. Expect showcases that are breathtaking and avant-garde.
Exhibitors
The bread and butter of the IDS is, and forever will be, the exhibitors. Showcasing their latest products and designs, expect lifesize models showcasing everything from lighting to kitchens, exteriors and more. See the latest in design trends and gain inspiration for your own home.
Korhani Home
We’ll admit it, we have a design crush on Korhani Home. From magical runway shows to affordable prices, and inventive designs inspired from the international runways, Korhani Home can do no wrong. Expect colourful rugs, pillows, and interior accessories that are accessible for the budget conscious. See the Korhani Home Fall 13 and Spring 13 runways here.
Andrew Richards Design
No one does exterior design quite like Andrew Richards. Last years zen-like, seaside inspired cabana was enough to have us dreaming of summers in Maine. Expect outdoor textiles with an interior appeal and a whole new appreciation of ‘patio furniture’.
