SPACE IBIZA FESTIVAL TORONTO wouldn’t have been the huge success it was without Jay Lumen and the “Jay Lumen Sound.” If we had to describe the young Hungarian producer/DJs music the best we could do is call it utterly danceable, because defining it as one sound over another seems unfair when looking at the diverse mix Lumen presents. Jay would call it “Just playing Jay Lumen”. Well, “just playing Jay Lumen” is a mixture of building sets from house, electro house, progressive house and progressive trance; laid back pulsating grooves to slow-mechanical beats and occasional additions of eclectic mixes of funk.

This is pop-your shoulders, bop your head; “hands up – heads down”, kind of feeling is done by many, but none as well as Lumen. The combination of alternating grooves, sweeping melodic peaks, and dance-floor sensibility has earned him Six No1, Eleven Top10 and several Top 20 charted tunes. His ability to rapidly produce hot tracks is a little out of this world (Since Space Ibiza Festival Toronto last week he’s released two EPs and by the time this prints we’re sure he’ll have released another) and directly attributes to why he’s been called:

Jay Lumen has tracks on more mixes than fathomable, (Godskitchen Underground and the song Calypso are personal favourites.); International releases on labels like Global Underground, Ministry of Sound, Anjunadeep and more, the list goes on and on and on…and on. However, Jay stays humble and focuses on what’s important. The music. We had the chance to say hello to Jay at this year’s Toronto’s Space Ibiza Festival and talk about what’s next for this heavy hitter.
