The label uses high-quality Italian and Japanese denim, constructing an array of curve-hugging silhouettes from slim to straight that manifest a resolutely city aesthetic. After a highly-praised Fall 12 season that showcased on-point colored jeans in deep shades of oxblood, yellow and oyster grey, Triarchy’s Spring 13 collection will, as always, implement elements of the siblings’ own love of motorbikes, architecture, design and equestrian, effortlessly constructing their signature classic aesthetic.
LAUREN BAGLIORE
A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, womenswear designer Lauren Bagliore worked with the likes of Vivienne Westwood and Zac Posen before launching her eponymous label just last year in 2011. Drawing from her knowledge of subversive edginess and lush treatment of fabrics, no doubt instilled by her years spent working with Westwood and Posen, Bagliore’s designs are at once modern and romantic.
Quickly developing her draping prowess as her signature construction early on, her designs retain a surprisingly amount of masculinity despite the femininity of her easy drapes and undulating pleats – Bagliore’s urban approach is manifested in structured a-symmetrical overcoats, while stripped-back, minimalist draped tunic dresses, hooded gowns and simple t-shirts provide that coveted effortless wearability that her Fall 12 collection was renowned for. Likewise, exaggerated layered collars, slick fabrications and angular, stepped hemlines ensured that the collection remained overtly contemporary in its construction, balanced by forward-thinking accessories like slouchy, fingerless leather gloves and oversize scarves in a stark white that somehow fit perfectly into her otherwise dark palette. Her Spring 13 collection will surely continue to take inspiration from Bagliore’s love of art and architecture, articulated in her bold statement pieces and exquisite tailoring.
